Congressional Briefing Extra Credit I. Was the assignment description clear? †¢ The assignment was completely clear. You provided us with detailed instructions for each task or section (annotated bibliography, briefing group meeting, and the briefing report). †¢ You even provided us with an example of how an annotated bibliography should look like and what was considered a peer reviewed academic article, which I think was very helpful. †¢ You even provided us with what would count as participation, which I think is very important, especially when is a group project. †¢ Maybe instead of verbally saying that we can use paragraphs and/or bullet point for our report, that can be noted in the assignment sheet as well because I think two members†¦show more content†¦My group kept saying â€Å"Oh, we are 5 so this will be easy to do, we can do this in 2 hours.† The group size was problematic because we had too many people, and not a lot of work to do. I believe that this was one of the causes that some members of my group felt so confident with the project that either waited until the last minute to do their part or did not do it at all because they believed the other students would cover each section of the project. IV. Did preparing the annotated bibliography help you to move forward with the assignment? †¢ Yes, because it made me read my sources right away. Some students when they are not required to do an annotated bibliography, pick any source based on the title, and sometimes this could be problematic. Some sources have a title that looks like it’s going to be helpful, but when you finally read it, is not what you were looking for. †¢ Having a separate deadline for the annotated bibliography was very helpful as well because it made us find our sources and read them like a month before our report was due. This way it’s better because then students do not wait until the last minute to do everything at once. V. Was the briefing group meeting useful? †¢ No, because even though that you required us to meet with you, a member of my group did not show up. †¢ It will be better if we submit on Canvas a document with the outline for our project and the answers for the questions that you required us to know for the meeting.
